The course is typically held the third Saturday of each month.  It is scheduled for an 8 hour class starting at 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The actual course length may vary, as the time required for each lesson will vary due to class size,  facility availability, student experience and comprehension level, not to mention weather, and unforeseen circumstances.

This course is an objective based course, which means you must pass the test and meet shooting requirements in order to receive your course completion certificate. You must receive at least 80% or greater on the written test and the qualification course of fire is as follows:

Students must qualify shooting a course of fire consisting of four five shot groups within a 4 inch circle. Groups do not have to be consecutive. Students must qualify at the Level 1: Red level to earn a Basic Pistol Course Completion certificate. Once the student accomplishes the Level 1: Red level, instructors are encouraged to offer them the opportunity to qualify for the Level 2: White, Level 3: Blue, and Instructor level endorsements on their certificates.

Situational Awareness for Realtors and Real Estate Agents

“Situational awareness,” a term often used by military and law enforcement personnel, is a frame of mind in which a person is relaxed but still aware of their surroundings. This is especially important for people in occupations such as real estate, where they are entering unknown situations with strangers on a regular basis. While real estate agents or Realtors don’t need to be paranoid, they need to be on-guard for possible dangers, and they need to be prepared to deal with threats that may arise.

Cogburn Enterprises’ Situational Awareness for Realtors and Real Estate Agents classes help agents keep themselves safe in unknown scenarios. This course is approved by NMAR.  It is a four-hour class that includes case studies, review of Montana and national laws, tips and hands-on practical application for anyone who may be in unknown scenarios. This class is geared toward Realtors and Real Estate Agents, and does count toward the annual continuing education credits needed to maintain a real estate license.

Don’t let convenience or complacency get you into trouble. Contact Cogburn Enterprises today to learn more about upcoming classes.

Keep an eye out for upcoming classes. A variety of class types are soon to be available, including introduction to firearms, self-defense for beginners and anti-bullying for children.

In addition to self-defense classes for beginners and women, Cogburn Enterprises is a representative for both The Well-Armed Woman and an Independent Damsel Pro for the Damsel in Defense programs.

Armed Women of America, formerly The Well Armed Woman

The Well-Armed Woman is transitioning to the Armed Women of America nation wide Non-Profit.  The Armed Women of America Flathead Shooting Chapter is excited to join this journey and our meetings are specifically geared toward female gun-owners, providing products and information specifically  to educate, equip and empower women shooters. The company provides information and products to help with everything, from permits to holsters to shooting tips, in a clear and concise manner that is informative without being condescending.  This is done by providing you with a safe and non-threatening environment to develop safe gun handling skills. You will learn gun care and build confidence, as well as awareness, when handling or speaking about firearms. The best part about this is you get to meet new people and socialize with a network of women of like interests.

The Well Armed Woman Flathead Shooting Chapter meets on the last Thursday of the month at 424 Main Street from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
